Winter 2022-23
Supplemental Admission Process

SEBS General Honors Program Supplemental Winter Admissions Process

The primary process for admission into the SEBS Honors Program is through an invitation that accompanies admission to the university. Recognizing, however, that some excellent students follow different paths, the program complements the primary process with a secondary process that is application-based.

The application process is undertaken after at least one semester of classes have been completed. To apply for admission to the program, currently enrolled SEBS students need to submit their Name and NetID to Janice Geiger at geiger@sebs.rutgers.edu by January 2, 2023.

Students will then be invited to complete an application on Canvas where they will answer a few basic questions and submit a one-page essay explaining their aspirations and qualifications as an SEBS Honors Student. For select applicants, an interview will be requested. The program will only consider applicants with at least 5 remaining semesters of study at Rutgers. Students applying for admission into the SEBS General Honors should be prepared to complete 17 credit hours of required coursework and maintain a 3.4 grade point average. While students are unable to complete the first-semester course, 11:554:111 Readings in Bio, they will be required to complete a short orientation with the Director.
